Today, diseases that once claimed countless young lives are being prevented, and women and mothers are experiencing safer pregnancies and childbirth, making communities stronger and more resilient. Since 2000, remarkable progress on maternal and child survival has been made, with a 55% decrease in under-five child mortality and a 42% decline in maternal mortality across USAID’s 25 priority countries. These numbers represent more than just statistics; they signify lives saved, dreams realized, and a brighter future for millions of women and children.
